Ky's Birthday August 18, 2009

Ky's 10th Birthday
Our Angel
So I can hardly believe it has been 10 years since Ky was born and 8 1/2 years since he passed away. To think I could have a 10-year old is crazy. Man, does that make me old or what!
A lot of things have changed since then. We have moved three times, had two more babies (it was work getting them here!), Slava has changed jobs a couple of times, we have been to many different and exciting places.
It is really hard for me to put down in words feelings that I have for Ky. But Kayden asked me if I was forgetting Ky. Now what do you say to that? Of course I told him "no." I have been feeling for awhile now like I need to write a few things that I remember about him for his brothers' sake. I have finally worked up the courage to do it. It stirs up feelings that are painful and that make me sad.
Although Ky's birth and death were hard and painful, there were happy moments as well. Slava used to sit with Ky in our big over sized chair and watch James Bond movies. Slava used to say that they were "bonding." I remember going to mom and dad's over the holidays. Everyone used to take turns staying up with Ky throughout the night. Dad used to listen to the oldies with him during his "shift" as we called them. Even Alisa, Devin and Jana took a "shift." They were really young (Jana was only about 12 years old) and they were always willing and wanting to take their turns. Ky did wonderful things for my family. He brought us closer together. If I needed anything I knew that my family would be there for me.
Although we didn't have Ky for very long, I loved every minute that he was with us. He was and is the reason I try to be better everyday. My greatest wish is that I can live my life in such a way that we all can be together again. I love him and miss him so much.
