Why is that every time we go somewhere someone gets sick? In this case Keegan. Again. We went up to Kalispell on Friday after school. Slava had a show that he was doing over the weekend. We thought that it would be a great idea to go up with him. The hotel was free, (Uncle Hilti was paying) the boys could play in the pool and it would be tons of great fun. NOT. Friday we got in about 7 pm. We meet Slava at Famous Dave's for dinner. It was yummy! Then we took the boys to the hotel pool and played for a hour or so. Everyone was doing great and having fun. Then midnight rolls around....Keegan wakes up screaming and yelling. Slava and I take turns with Keegan, but of course we are in a little hotel room and neither one of us can sleep. Keegan was complaining about his ear hurting. I thought that he had gotten a little bit water in his ear and it was irritating it. Finally Slava took Keegan for a drive to the store to get some Motrin (and some very much needed diet coke!). That was about 3 am.
The night continued on as follows...
*Keegan falls asleep for 10 - 15 minutes
*Keegan wakes up crying
*Mom and or Dad tries to calm him down
*Keegan cries himself to sleep
*Repeat the process!!
Needless to say Slava and I didn't get any sleep. Some how Kayden managed to sleep all night. Oh to be young again! Slava had to be to his show by 9 am. So he took off and I took the boys to breakfast. Keegan seemed to do better if his was in an upright position. After breakfast Keegan continued to complain that his ear hurt. So I finally broke down and decided to take him to an Urgent care. I found and urgent care next to the hospital and of course it was busy. We ended up waiting about 1 1/2 in the waiting room and another 45 minutes in the room waiting for the doctor. While we were waiting Keegan started to complain that both of his ear were hurting. Poor kid! The doctor finally saw us, by then Keegan had fallen asleep in my lap and of course Keegan was not happy that he was woken up. Long story short, Keegan had double ear infections and strep throat. Needless to say it was a long day.
As it stands now, Slava is taking a well needed nap, Keegan is also taking a nap. I had mine this morning while Slava and Kayden were at church. Thank goodness for playhouse Disney, it entertained Keegan for a couple of hours while I got my nap! Let's hope next week goes a lot better! There is always wishing!
